About Betsy Boze
Betsy Boze is a longtime educational administrator who guided The College of The Bahamas, the national higher education system headquarted of The Bahamas from 2010 to 2014. Headquarted in Nassau, she oversaw multiple research stations including the Gerace Research Center on San Salvador, the Poultry Research Center, three campuses, including a newly opened location on the island of Grand Bahama. Betsy Boze directed the establishment of Bahamas Agricultural and Marine Science Institute, which is focused on agricultural self-sufficiency. She also helped draw up a campus master facility plan, which laid out long-term plans for the next two decades.
Ms. Boze earned her MBA at the Southern Methodist University’s Cox School of Business. For more than a decade, she served as the University of Texas (UT) at Brownsville and Texas Southmost College’s business college dean. Her responsibilities with the jointly accredited academic partnership included the master planning of a UT TeleCampus.
From 2005 to 2009, Ms. Boze was CEO and dean of Kent State University at Stark in North Canton, Ohio. She managed a campus transition from a predominantly two-year institution to status as the public university of Stark County to a four-year comprehensive university with select, professional masters degrees.
